In this Instructable, learn how to make delicious homemade chocolate cobbler. This dish is popular in the South; some people call it "Chocolate Sundae Cake" or "Hot Fudge Sundae Cake". Call it whatever you want, haha. If you love chocolate, give this recipe a try.

Supplies

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of butter (113g)
- 3 Tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder (36g)
- 3/4 cup of brown sugar (165g)
- 3/4 cup of white sugar (150g)
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour (120g)
- 2 tsp of baking powder (10g)
- 1/2 tsp of salt (2g)
- 3 Tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder (36g)
- 1 cup of milk (240g)
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract (5g)
- 1 cup of chocolate chips (170g)
- 1 1/2 cups of boiling water (360g)
NOTE: You can use self-rising flour instead if you like. If you do, don't add the baking powder and only add 1/4 tsp of salt.
Tools:
- Bowls
- Whisk
- Spatula
- 8x11 baking pan or baking dish
Preheat and Melt Butter

Add the butter to your baking pan or dish, then place it in the oven. Set the heat to 350F/176C and as the oven preheats it will melt the butter.
Sugar and Cocoa Powder

Whisk together the brown sugar and the cocoa powder and then set that aside.
The Batter

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, white sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Use a whisk, mixer, or spatula/spoon.
Chocolate Chips

Remove the heated dish or pan from the oven. USE OVEN MITTS. Then sprinkle the chocolate chips on the bottom. This creates the yummy chocolate sauce.
Finish and Bake

Pour the batter on top of the chocolate chips and spread it out evenly. Then pour the boiling water on top gently. Bake in the oven again at 350F/176C °C for 25 to 30 minutes until it doesn't jiggle on the top when you move the pan/dish (using hot mitts!)
Once baked allow the chocolate cobbler to cool 30 minutes to an hr before serving.
Serve It!

Serve it as is or add a scoop of ice cream with it. Enjoy!
