Chocolate Chip Chocolate Cake With Vanilla Frosting

I was at home one day planning on baking a delicious treat, but I didn't know what to make. And then I looked in the pantry and realized I had cocoa powder. I remembered the fact that I had never made a chocolate cake before and this could be the time to try. And then because I wanted to make the frosting, I used a recipe for vanilla frosting that my family has used a lot when baking.

Supplies

For the cake

1 cup sugar, 1 ½ cup flour, ¾  cup cocoa powder, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 2 eggs, 1 cup milk, ½ cup oil, 2 tsp vanilla extract, 1 cup hot water, 1 cup Chocolate chips


For the frosting: 

1 ½ cups powdered sugar, 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/3 a cup milk, and Sprinkles


Things you need:

Baking pan, Teaspoon, Tablespoon, Measuring cup, Oven, Electric mixer


Preheat the Oven

We start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees so that by the time we finish making the batter the oven will be hot.

Mix the Dry Ingredients

Mix the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together. Do this until it is thoroughly mixed.

Mix the Wet Ingredients

Mix the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla until it is thoroughly mixed.

Mix Everything

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients one cup at a time. Then mix it until it is thoroughly mixed. Then add the cup of hot water, and again mix it until it is thoroughly mixed. Then add the chocolate chips and mix thoroughly 

Put It in the Oven

Take the batter and pour it into the pan which needs to be greased with oil. Then put it in the oven and bake it for 30 - 35 min and check if a toothpick goes cleanly inside it. 

Frosting

While you are waiting for the cake to bake, you can make the frosting. Take the powdered sugar and put it in a mixing bowl. Then add the 2 tsp of vanilla. Then add ½  cup of milk. Mix it together until is wet. Then when the cake is done, frost it so that the cover of the cake is covered. Then sprinkle the sprinkles on top.
