Choc Chip Banana Block Cookies
This recipe is for banana chocolate chip cookies. I love banana chocolate chip cookies and I think you will too. I made banana chocolate chip square cookies because I am a big baker and love cookies. So I have been trying different cookie styles, and different types of cookies. I am sure this recipe will become a top favorite of yours. I would love any feedback so I could adjust and make it better.
Supplies
- 1 Cup Butter
- 1 Cup Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
- 2 Large eggs
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 3 Med. Mashed Bananas (frozen is best)
- 3 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
- 1-1/2 Teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
- 2 Cups Chocolate Chips
- Electric Mixer
- One large bowl
- Toothpick
- Cookie sheet with parchment paper
- Small bowl
- Fork
- spatula for taking dough off of paddle
- Measuring cups
- little bowl
Optional If Bananas Are Frozen
Put 3 frozen unpeeled bananas under hot water for 5 minutes to defrost .
Cream Butter
Set up stand electric mixer and use paddle attachment to cream 1 cup butter until soft
Add Sugar
Add 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar into the mixture and beat until fluffy.
Add Eggs and Vanilla Extract
In little bowl Add 2 cracked large eggs and 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract and add to mixer bowl and beat until well blended.
Bananas
Take small bowl and Using a fork mash 3 peeled bananas then beat into the mixture.
Dry Ingredients
In large bowl combine the 3 Cups flour, 2 Teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 Teaspoons baking soda, 1-1/2 Teaspoons cinnamon and 1/2 Teaspoon nutmeg and slowly add 1 cup until all mixture is in mixer bowl and mix till dough like texture.
Adding Dry Mixture
Add one cup of dry mixture at time until fully mixed in. Let it mix intel dough like mixture.
Adding Chocolate Chips
Put all 2 cups of chocolate chips in the mixture and mix until blended in.
Baking
Using the bowl with dough put the dough on the cookie sheet with parchment paper and even out until square like shape. Preheat oven to 180*c. After the Oven is done preheating put the cookie sheet with dough in the oven and set the timer for 15 minutes (Check with tooth pick, if dough sticks to the tooth pick put back into oven in for 3 more minutes keep tooth pick).
Last Step
After the cookies are ready take out of the oven and let cool. (use tooth pick from early and check every 10 minutes by leaving the tooth pick in it for 10 seconds and take it out and touch the tip that has been in the cookie )
Reflections
This is my first time making square cookies. I had missed adding sugar which was fine because I was not too far in the recipe. I would say paying attention and reading carefully is most important in baking. What I learned was focus and patience is key.
