The core design concept of this tea table includes:

  1. Eco-friendliness and Sustainability: Made from recycled cardboard, reducing waste and promoting environmental awareness.
  2. Terraced Layered Design: The stacked layers create a visually rich effect, inspired by traditional terraced landscapes.
  3. Curved & Modern Minimalism: The overall contour adopts soft curves, blending expressive aesthetics with a clean, modern look.
  4. Practicality: The tea table is designed with three tray areas—one for a teapot and two for tea cups—ensuring both beauty and functionality.

Sketching the Concept: Draw an initial concept sketch, determining dimensions, contours, and layering effects.

Functional Layout: Plan three designated tray areas—one for the teapot and two for tea cups—to enhance usability.

Define the Largest Layer: Using a ruler, draw the outline of the largest (topmost) layer on the cardboard.

Gradual Size Reduction: Draw successive layers, each slightly smaller than the one above, forming a tiered terraced effect. Each layer’s shape slightly varies to create a natural and fluid visual appeal.

Cutting and Assembling

Use Scissors and a Utility Knife: Carefully cut out each layer along the drawn contours.

Smooth the Edges: If rough edges appear, use sandpaper or trim manually to refine the layers.

Add Padding Between Layers: Insert thin padding materials (such as foam or extra cardboard pieces) between each layer to create a more pronounced 3D effect.

Secure the Structure: Use double-sided tape to firmly attach each layer while maintaining the terraced appearance.

Choose Suitable Supports: Use three small cylindrical tea containers as table legs, elevating the structure.

This tea table design seamlessly integrates creativity, sustainability, aesthetics, and practicality. It is not only visually unique with its terraced form but also functional for daily use. If given the opportunity, this design could be further enhanced using stronger materials like wood or acrylic, turning it into a true artistic and functional masterpiece!
