Today, I'm going to teach you how to make Chinese Almond Cookies.
Supplies
What you need for this recipe is 1 1/4 Cups of Flour, 3/4 Cups of Cane Sugar, 2 TBSP of Dry Milk Powder, 3/4 TSP of Baking Powder, 3/4 TSP of Salt, 1 TSP of Almond Extract, 1/2 of an Egg, 1/2 Cups of Unsalted Butter, Almonds, a Bowl, Saran Wrap, a Knife, Tray, Pastry Brush, and a Fork.
Mixing Ingredients
So, first you need to grab all of your dry ingredients, and mix them together with your fork for 1 minute. Then grab all of your wet ingredients and put it into a bowl. And mix it wit your fork for 2 minutes, then with your hands unitl it becomes dough. And for the rest of the whisked egg, save some for the eggwash later.
Cooling and Wrapping
So next, you grab your dough and shape it until it becomes rectangular. Then, you wrap it in saran wrap and put it in the freezer or fridge, for 10 minutes. After that, you grab the dough and remove the saran wrap. Next, you cut it into 12 pieces and roll it into tiny balls. Then, put 6 of 12 pieces of the dough on two baking trays.
Baking and Eating
Finally, you flatten the tiny balls lightly with the palm of your hands. Then, make a criss-cross on the top of your dough, with your fork. Next, use the eggwash by applying a little water onto the left over whisked egg, then put it on the dough. After that, put one or two sliced almonds on top of the dough, and slightly press on it. Then you bake it in a preheated oven at 350 degrees fahrenheit for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. When the chinese almond cookies are done, put them on a cooling rack for a few minutes before serving them. After that, you are finally finished.
