Chinchilla Cube-house

Cut a 1100x200 mm work-piece off from a ready-made 18 mm thick board with a disc saw.

Cut it down to 16 mm thick on a thickness planer.

Adjust it to the size specified in the draft using a miter saw.

Mark out the boards.

Cut out round holes with an electric hand saw. Leave a 1-2 mm margin for finishing.

Using a template, cut the holes and finish them with a hand router mounted on a router table.

Route quarters (6x16 mm) with a groove cutter featuring a cutter tooth.

The gluing comprises two stages.

First, put together the body. Smear the parts with glue and clamp them. Check right angles with a framing square. Remove excess glue with a damp sponge. Wait for the glue to dry.

Second, fix the top.

Once the glue dries completely, carry out rough finishing.

Remove all sharp edges using a hand router with an R8 disc cutter. Finish the chinchilla house.

Now the cube-house is ready. Place it in a cage or glass case for your chinchillas to explore.
