Chill Guy House

I thought of this house while sketching and decided to use it. I decided to use this because I thought it was a nice house and was not too hard or too easy to build. It also has a nice layout.

Supplies

Balsa Wood

Foam

Paper

Glue

Paint

Box Cutter

Ruler

Cutting Board

Paint Brush

Front

I started off with making this to eventually be attached to the main part of the house in the front. I thought it would look cool to add this to make it more appealing to some people.

House Frame

IMG_2038.jpeg

The main frame of the house that was used to put all of the little detail and parts to go into it. It is measured at 3 inches in the front and back and 5 inches on both sides.

Front Part 2

IMG_2039.jpeg

I added some bars between the parts of the railing as well as more pillars to go higher up to reach the roof. There is only one more part to finish this part of the build.

Gazebo

IMG_2040.jpeg

Thought it would be cool to make a patio on the back to put this gazebo on top of. Did not take too long to make and can look difficult to make but it was fairly easy.

Roof

IMG_2041.jpeg

A house needs a roof of course! The measurements of this are a little bigger than the frame of the house so it has a bit of an overhead like traditional houses. Made slant cuts to make the pieces fit together.

Windows

IMG_2052.jpeg

Made lots of windows. This took too long to do. Each window took about 3 minutes to make to just get the measurement and the cut along with gluing them together. There are more to do with these.

Roof Part 2

IMG_2053.jpeg

To make the roof look better than it already was, I added the top part to close off the roof along with painting it black. I think black was a good color to use to match the color scheme of the house and windows.

Window Part 2

IMG_2058.jpeg

This might have took even longer to do. I had a piece of thin cardboard and colored it black to add the black backdrop. Also, every window was painted white to really have a nice pop to the color of the house. We then glued the backdrop to the window and the windows were finished and all that was left to glue them on the house.

Bricks

IMG_2059.jpeg

Cut out lots of these little pieces to eventually be used as bricks and put in the backyard of the house along with the gazebo and other parts. I thought this would look cool to have something like this and make it look better.

Front Part 2

IMG_2060.jpeg

Got lots done to the house. Painted the house a nice grey color to fit with the colors. Also added doors with a blue backdrop to mix around the colors a bit. Glued on the windows and doors along with the front patio.

Sides

IMG_2061.jpeg

The roof is not glued on it is temporarily on. The windows however are glued on and are not going anywhere. This was done to both sides of the house and are spaced out evenly from each other. Both sides look the same.

Back

IMG_2104.jpeg

Added five windows to the back as long as a sliding door that is common in houses that lead out to the back yard. Colored the backdrop of the sliding door blue to try and indicate that it is clear.

Bricks Part 2

IMG_2103.jpeg

Got the bricks painted! All that is left to do with these are but them together to make the patio to set the gazebo on top of. They are painted a dark red to kind of a maroon color to replicate a traditional brick.

Back Part 2

IMG_2105.jpeg

Got all of the bricks placed! Along with the bricks placed together, the gazebo was glued on top of the bricks along with a miniature grill and table. Thought it would look nice and make it more decorated. We also got the back patio and eventually have the house glued on top of this foam.

Chimney

IMG_2106.jpeg

I decided to make a chimney to make it look better. Painted the chimney white along with a grey trim around the top. Instead of making it hallow and visible from the inside.

Roof & Chimney

IMG_2107.jpeg

Got the chimney glued onto the roof. Along with the chimney glued onto the roof, the roof was glued onto the house and we are inching closer and closer to being finished.

Yard

IMG_2112.jpeg

Got the foam painted green to make it look like grass. Added multiple tones of green to help the yard get more detailed and show the multiple shades of grass there are.

Tree

IMG_2113.jpeg

To make the yard have a little more to add to it, I decided to work on this tree. Started off by using one long piece as the log. Then, I made the smaller pieces to help make the frame and hold it together.

Tree Part 2

IMG_2114.jpeg

Got some green construction paper to make a pine tree green. All I did was roll it around the frame then glued it together to stay in place. All that was left was to add detail.

Tree Part 3

IMG_2116.jpeg

Added some detail to the tree. I thought if adding detail to the tree it would make it look more realistic. All that was left was to glue it onto the foam.

Finished Product

IMG_2117.jpeg

Finally finished! Got the house glued down on top of the foam. Also added a little part to attach the front patio to the roof. Also, I glued the tree in the backyard as you can see in the photo.

Finished Product Part 2

IMG_2119.jpeg

Finally Finished! The tree was glued in the back yard. The table was glued on top of the patio along with the grill to the right of the gazebo.
