You must have had all kinds of pie, but trust me, this one will be the best. The easiest, most straightforward, yet most fantastic bakery-style chicken pie. The twist in this recipe is it's not baked, but it's fried. It is OK to gain extra calories when you eat such tasty food.
I first tried this recipe in the baked version. My mom said this would taste better if it was fried. So one day, I tried this updated recipe, and wow, everyone loved this new chicken pie. I have been making pie the same way ever since. I am very excited to share this recipe. Without any further ado, we will begin with the recipe.
Supplies
- Chicken - 300-400 grams.
- Salt.
- Black Pepper powder.
- Chili flakes.
- Oregano.
- Oil.
- All purpose Flour.
- Egg.
- Garlic.
- Green Chilies.
- Onion.
- Vinegar.
- Milk.
Make a Dough

- Take 1 cup of all-purpose flour.
- To that, add half a teaspoon of salt or salt as per taste.
- Add 3-4 tablespoons of refined oil.
- Mix with the dry flour well.

- Add water little by little and make a smooth dough.
- Make the dough a bit hard.
- Our dough is ready.
- Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
Chop Chop
- Chop about 300-400 grams of boneless chicken.
- Don't make it too small.
- Finely chop 3 tablespoons of garlic and 2 tablespoons of green chilies.

- Heat a pan.
- To that, add 4 tablespoons of oil.
- Heat it.
- Add chopped garlic to it.
- Then add chopped green chilies.
- Let them cook for a few seconds.

- Once the rawness of the garlic goes away, add chopped onions.
- Sauté till the onions are cooked.

- Add chopped chicken.
- Mix well.

- Add 1/2 tablespoon of salt.
- Add 1/2 tablespoon of black pepper powder.

- Add 2 tablespoons of vinegar.
- 1 Tablespoon of chili flakes.
- 1 tablespoon of oregano.
- Mix everything well.

- Cover the pan and let it cook.
- This will take 5 mins.
- After 5 minutes, turn of the flame and let the mixture cool down.

- To the cooked chicken, add 1/2 cup of grated cheese.
- Add 3-4 tablespoons of coriander leaves.
- Mix everything well.

- Take 1 roti.
- Brush some oil over it.
- Sprinkle and dust flour.
- Place another roti over it.
- And roll it together.
- Do the same with all the roti's.

- Take a frying/ shallow pan.
- Once it's hot, put the rolled roti.
- when you see small bubbles, flip and cook from other side.
- Keep flipping it and cook it from both sides.

- Cut the round rotis into square shape.
- And separate the rotis.

- In a bowl, crack an egg.
- Add salt and pepper as per taste.
- Add 4-5 tablespoons of milk.
- Mix everything well.

- Take one square sheet.
- Place 1-2 tablespoons of the prepared stuffing in the middle.
- Use egg wash and secure the packet from all sides.

- Dip the packets into the egg wash.
- Then coat it with breadcrumbs.
- It is now ready for frying.

- Take a deep pan.
- Heat oil for deep frying.
- Once the oil is completely hot, fry the prepared packets till they're nice golden brown and crispy.
