Chicken Foot Ball Nuggets

I was just wondering what I shall make for Tailgate Contest.

Just for fun I thought of a rugby concept. I wanted a savory dish and that is how I ended up making the chicken nuggets seasoned with oregano. As a dip I have made a Garlic based white sauce.

I am sure this would be a great recipe for a Tail Gate party. It is quite simple to make and easy to serve.

Ingredients

Ingredients:

Preparation Time – 10 min

Cooking Time – 25 min

Ingredients:

Chicken – 250 gm

Pepper – 1 Tsp

Salt – As needed

Oregano (dried) – 2 Tsp

Potato – 1 Big

Garlic – 3

Ginger – ½ Tsp (Optional)

Lime Juice – 1 Tsp

Chicken Stock - 1/4 Cup

Sauce:

Corn flour – 1 Tbsp

Chicken Stock - 1 Tbsp

Butter – 1 Tbsp

Milk – ½ Cup

Pepper – 1 TSp

Salt – As needed

Garlic (Chopped) – 1 Tsp

Shredded Chicken

You can get minced chicken from the stores. If not you can make minced chicken at your home.

Here I am making minced chicken from the scratch. If you are using store bought ones kindly ignore this step.

Pressure cook the chicken for one whistle. Shred the chicken.

Grind

In a mixer/Food processor, add the shredded chicken, garlic, salt, pepper and ginger. Add chicken stock. Grind them together.

Potatoes

Transfer it to a bowl and add in the mashed potatoes. Add dried Oregano for seasoning and lime juice.

The mix should be of the consistency that you press it together, it should hold shape. Shape them to a foot ball shape with your fingers.

Powder Oats

Take some oats and powder it to a coarse texture. It shouldn't be too fine like Oats flour.

Ready to Fry!

Beat an egg. Add pepper and salt to it.

Dip the nuggets in egg and let the excess egg flow off down. Coat it with oats. Keep it ready for frying.

Fry

Heat the oil. When the Oil is hot add in the nuggets for deep frying. When one side has turned golden brown, turn over and fry the other side.

Garlic Dip

Melt Butter and saute Garlic in it. Add the milk, Chicken stock and corn flour.

Add pepper and salt. Seep stirring at low heat till it forms a sauce texture.

You can even use Garlic based Mayonnaise dip.

With the help of the back of the spoon line the sauce over the nuggets as you find on a football.
