This tutorial will be on how to create a minimalist chess pawn design in Fusion 360

Supplies

Autodesk Fusion 360

Sketch the Shape of the Base

  1. Select the XY plane
  2. Draw a vertical line from the center that is 280 mm long
  3. Draw a horizontal line from the end of the first line that is 80 mm long
  4. Create a diagonal line 45° from the horizontal line that is 35 mm long

Sketch the Shape of the Base(part 2)

  1. Create a new horizontal line on the x-axis that is 110 mm long
  2. Draw a line from the end of the bottom line that is 50 mm long at 45°
  3. Connect the endpoints of both diagonal lines
  4. Finish the sketch

Create the Base

  1. Select the revolve tool, located under create
  2. Select the sketch as the "face"
  3. Select the vertical line as the "axis"
  4. Change the angle to 360°, the type to "angle", the direction to "one side", and the operation to "new body"
  5. Confirm

Create a Sphere

  1. Select "sphere" under "create"
  2. Select the bottom plane
  3. Change the diameter to 230 mm
  4. Change the operation to "new body"
  5. Confirm

Move the Sphere

  1. Select "move/copy" located under modify
  2. Select the sphere
  3. Change the "y distance" to 340 mm
  4. Confirm
