Chess Game

Today in this project we will be making a very easy chess game with chess board and pieces using fusion 360.

I am an 11th grader in Johnson high school, san Antonio.

Supplies

The only supply and tool I used in this project is fusion 360.

Taking Measurements

step1.jpg

First, we will be taking measurements of the chess pieces by using the sketch tool on the top left. (We used an image of the chess pieces)

Mirroring It

step2.jpg

Next we will mirror the half chess pieces measurement by doing

Create ->

Profile=2 ->

angle=360

Making It 3d

step 3.jpg

Now we will drag and drop our chess piece off our image to make it a nice 3d structure.

Repeating

step4.jpg

After we will do the exact same step with all the other pieces to make them 3d as well.

Adding the Top

step5.jpg
step6.jpg

If you have noticed we still need to add the top parts of our chess pieces. Add the top part by doing

Create ->

Profile=4 ->

Start= profile plane ->

direction=Symmetric ->

Measurement=left ->

distance=1mm

Chess Board

step8.jpg
step9.jpg

Next we will create a flat surface for our chess board by doing

sketch ->

rectangle =center rectangle

Adding Boxes

step10.jpg
step12.jpg

Then we will add boxes by doing

modify ->

split body ->

split from surface -> ok

-----------------------------------------------------

And then we will select each boxes to give them color. 64 squares arranged in an 8×8 grid

Duplicating

step11.jpg
step13.jpg

And lastly we will duplicate our chess pieces and give them color.

pawn= 16

rook= 4

Knight= 4

Bishop= 4

Queen= 2

King= 2

Finally

Finally we will drag and drop all our chess pieces on to our chess board to finally complete our chess game.
