Cheetos Around the World
I recently traveled to Greece and was looking for some comforts of home: Cheetos. I found them, but they were not at all the choices I have back home in the U.S.
Bringing back a bag or two sounds like a unique gift, but they aren't going to last long :)
I thought it might be neat to make a wall map of all the Cheetos I encounter in my travels. Of course I don't travel as frequently as I used to, so Google image search is going to fill in some blanks.
These techniques can be re-purposed for other uses than unique food items; for instance: maybe Marathon's you've completed around the world.
Supplies
Microsoft Visio or something that can open/edit VSD files
The map layer is from here...

Adding Images
With the Visio Map open in Microsoft Visio, you can easily copy and paste images onto the map.
The two Cheeto bags from Greece are pictures I took on my phone (after their delicious contents were consumed). The other Cheeto bag images I obtained by searching the internet:
- and Google Image search https://www.google.com/search?q=Cheetos+India
Occasionally I use Microsoft Paint to crop an image, or https://lunapic.com to make a transparent background.
Insert the images via copy/paste. After pasting the image you can resize it as desired. Move them so they aren't blocking the country.
Link Image to the Country
Draw a line connector between the image and the related country. Short-Cut is "Ctrl-6".
If you're having trouble locating a country on the map, you can locate it using the "external data" view. Double click the country name, and it will be selected in the map view.
Finishing Touches
I added the Cheetos logo to the center as well. The logo is from http://teehead.ee/images/cheetos_new.jpg but I had to upload it to LunaPic.com to make the background transparent before copy/paste into the Visio file.
In LunaPic select "Edit" and than "Transparent Background". Save as PNG.
Resize and place it in the center.
Printing
In Visio, under the Design menu...
Select Orientation and choose Landscape.
Select Size and choose the desired paper size: 8 1/2"x11", 8 1/2"x14", 11"x17", etc.
My office printer supports 8 1/2"x11" (letter), 8 1/2"x14" (legal), and 11"x17" (Ledger/Tabloid).
Now press the following keys together: "Ctrl-A". This will select all the objects on the screen.
You can now move and resize to fit the entire map on to a single sheet of the desired paper size.
Print. Frame? Hang. Show the world (or your office) your love of Cheetos.
