I created this project because i love the United States of America. I wanted to commemorate my beautiful country while being creative. It was a fun experience that had a couple of hitches. I enjoyed making this project and i hope you enjoy it too.

The next step is I cut the wood into 3 inch blocks and then i figured what pieces i want to cut and what pieces to scrap. I kept a total of 20 wood blocks for the project. This step took the most amount of time.
Sanding

The next step is sanding the wood to make it s nice as you want. You can put time into sanding every piece to perfection. I was spent too much time on cutting the wood so i had to make do with the time i had.
Staining

This step is messy but fun if you are into painting. You first mark the pieces you want to stain. I marked them into a checkered pattern but it is up to your design. You just paint the stain on, take a cloth and lightly soak the stain for the best effect.
Putting It Together

For this step i used a drill, dowels, and wood glue. First drill the holes where you want them to connect. I put them together by row. I drilled a hole, loosely cut the dowel, and finally put the wood pieces were together. After i finished a row i glued the row together so they do not move around at all.
Final Step: Laser Cut/ Design

this step is up to you. This was my favorite thing to do. I took a flag design off of the internet, and the software traced the image. I sent the image to the laser cutter. The laser cutter then traced the image over the blocks of wood. If you do not have access to a laser cutter then you can draw an image over or you can put any design you want.
Even More Design

I had an extra layer of wood that i put together and put a name on the bottom row. I thought i would need more wood than i had so i had extra pieces to have fun with.
