Checker Board
Hi, my name is Helen, and I currently attend Dublin Jerome High School. I made a checkered board game that can be 3D printed to play with family and friends.
Game Board
Create a new sketch in fusion and draw a 6.5in by 6.5 square. You will then finish this sketch and extrude it to fit the size you would like. (make it proportional)
Game Board Extruded
This is what it should look like once extruded.
Game Board 2nd Piece
Now create a new sketch on top of the 6.5in square. Make this square 6.0in. You will also extrude this square but extrude it down about half the length you did to the first square. (This should cut into the first square a little).
Game Board 2nd Piece Extruded
This is how it should look once you cut into the first extruded square.
Tiles on Board Base
Now create a new sketch on top of the square you just drew above. Draw squares that are about 0.75in apart. (64 total squares) You should finish the sketch and extrude some of the squares to form a checkered board pattern.
Tiles on Board Base Extruded
This is what your board should look like right now with some of the squares extruded.
Game Pieces
Now create a new sketch on one of the extruded squares. You will draw a circle with a diameter of 0.7in. (12 total circles) (you can use any method of reflecting to create multiple circles or just draw the circles on each square)
Game Pieces Extruded
You should extrude the sketches of the circle and it should look like this. (to color them hit "A" for appearance and you should see a menu of colors)
Game Pieces Copied
To create the game pieces on the other side, you could repeat steps 7 & 8, OR Hit "M" to move the pieces. Select the options so they look like these options. ("bodies" & "create copy"). You now have a copy of this piece and can move it wherever.
(you can repeat Step 8 when it comes to coloring the new pieces)
Final Product
Here is what your final piece looks like. (you can 3D print this if you would like but you'd have to print the base/board as one piece and create a different model of the pieces to print)
