Cheap Desoldeing Iron Pistol Grip for Ease of Use
Everyone that is into electronics sooner or later needs a desoldering device. There are plenty cheap unheated ones and a few really expensive ones. I found something in the middle and decided to make it more convinient to use.
If You too have a desoldering iron like the one i do, then feel free to download these files, print them and convert this device to a much nicer one :)
Supplies
1pcs. desoldering iron
1pcs. 3D printer
2pcs. M3 by 15mm screws with nuts for tightening clamps
6pcs. M3 by 10mm screws for attaching handle
2pcs. M4 by 10mm screws for attatching the trigger
1pcs. compression spring 20mm by 5mm
1pcs. Fussion360 account
1.pcs calliper
Measure the desoldering iron and design the clamp that will keep the handle tight to the desoldering tool. You need to design only one but will need to print two of them.

Now we need to make a replacement for the back cover of the desoldering iron that could accomodate the clamps and provide a mounting point for the handle.
Then You need to design a handle and a trigger button. The handle I made is quite simple but feels quite good in hand. The trigger was made with the same principle - easy to make and comfy in use.
Last thing to make is a bottom stand co You could put the desoldering gun on Your bench without burning everything:)

Last step is to assemble everything.
Once You are done, You can use this desolderer in a more convinient way than its manufacturer intended :)
