Cheap Deck-mount Automatic Touchless Soap Dispenser
Our counter mount manual soap dispenser broke, so I wanted to replace it with a touchless one. None of the faucet companies seem to make any that are reasonably-priced, so I bought a cheap one on Amazon. Only issue was that it didn't fit through the mounting thing from our old pump dispenser. Strolled 'round Home Depot and came across this Simple Drain kit. On a whim, the fitting happens to screw onto the bottle that came with the Amazon purchase. Let me show you how easy it was to make this work.
Supplies
Soap dispenser https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CWL99676
Drain kit https://www.homedepot.com/p/SIMPLE-DRAIN-1-25-in-Rubber-Threaded-P-Trap-Bathroom-Single-Sink-Drain-Kit-3EA-1V2-TC0/313608432
Scissors
Silicone straw (to extend the dispenser's plastic straw)
Cut Simple Drain Tubing
Ensure you use this end of the tubing. I cut about here. I suppose you could make cut further down, but the longer this tube is, the harder your dispenser needs to work to pull the soap up, so I kept it short. We only need this smooth top part of the tubing and one or two folds.
Make Funnel and Attach to Bottle
I don't have a picture, but you just feed the cut end of the tube through the fitting and screw it onto the top of the bottle.
Use Silicone Straw to Extend Plastic Tubing
I happened to have a silicone straw from a water bottle and it was the right size to slide onto the plastic straw that comes with the dispenser. You want to make it long enough to reach the bottom of the bottle with the funnel on top.
Feed Funnel Up Through Countertop
Now the super fun part...clear the cabinet under your sink and lie on your back with your head in the cabinet so you can feed the funnel up through the hole in your countertop. You probably need to fold the top of the funnel in on itself to make it stiff enough to push through.
Fill the Bottle and Drop in the Dispenser
I left a good bit of the tubing up through the counter. I may try to find a black ring to cover it or use some electrical tape or something to make the top black, but it serves two purposes....kind of makes a funnel that allows you to add soap easier and also makes the dispenser sit a bit higher so you can get your hand under it.
Hope this helps someone. I was such a dork about this, but I didn't want the bottle on the counter or to use one of those blanks to cover the hole.
