Charm Your Friends With Phone Charms

IMG_6679.jpg

Over the past few years phone cases and accessories have become a fashion statement. Phone charms have recently been the newest phone accessory fashion trend amongst teenagers. Instead of spending $15- $20 on a phone charm, I decided that I would learn how to make my own and it ended up only costing $3.00. Surprisingly, it was incredibly easy to make my own, I was able to customize it to my liking and it looked better than the real thing. If you have any experience making bracelets with string and beads, this process will be easy for you to do!

Supplies

1 roll of elastic string

Scissors

88 colored beads (I bought a variety pack of beads and charms but any beads with holes in the middle will work)

Cut String

Cut about 1 foot of elastic string with scissors.

Fold String and Tie Knot

Fold string in half and tie a knot where the string is folded, so there is a loop at the top.

Pick Out Beads

Pick out 44 beads per side (88 total) that express your personality and match your phone case.

String Beads on Elastic String

String beads on elastic string in any pattern or order that looks good together. I prefer to string my colored beads in groups of four. After I string two different colors in groups of four (8 beads total), I add a charm bead to add dimensions. I will also add different sized and colored beads throughout my phone charm.

Knot End of String

Once you have 1.5 inches left of string, tie a double knot at the end.

Repeat Steps 4-5 on the Other Side

Tie Both Sides Together

Tie both sides together with 6 knots or until secure.

Cut Off String at End

Cut any extra string off of end so there is no extra string in the way. Make sure you do not cut too close to the knot because then the string will unravel. To avoid this make sure there is about 1/8 of an inch of elastic string left on the phone charm before the knot.

Your Done!
