Changing the Sound Hook on an Oticon Engage Hearing Aid

Changing the hook

Sound hooks are curved, hollow "hooks" that screw onto to the hearing aid. These hooks function to hold the hearing aid onto the ear and to transmit sound from the hearing aid through to the tube that goes into the ear. Occasionally the sound hook needs to be changed to accommodate a different type of tubing or replaced if it has been damaged.

Here is a video link with step-by-step instructions on how to change the sound hook: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCA_MwB5Ik4.

The pin should be located closely below the hook and functions to keep the hook securely in place.

Place the Pin Tool on the Head of the Pin and Press Until the Pin Tool Engages Completely

The Pin Will Remain Attached to the Hearing Aid, Do Not Remove It Completely As It Can Easily Get Lost
