Changing oil on a Torqstorm supercharger

1. Electric impact (optional) 15/16 hex bit.

2. ratchet and 15mm socket.

3. 11mm wrench.

4. Flat head or Philips screw driver.

Removing the Supercharger Filter

The only thing you have to do to remove the supercharger filter is loosen the band clamp and then the filter should slide off easily.

Removing the Supercharger Belt

To remove the belt you have to put the 15mm socket on the belt tensioner and rotate it to the right to take the tension off of the belt. Then the belt can be easily removed.

Removing the Charge Pipe (boost Tube)

To remove the boost tube you have to loosen the band clamp holding it on to the supercharger. Once it is loosened the boost tube can be slid off of the supercharger. The band clamp takes an 11mm wrench.

Removing the Supercharger

To remove the supercharger the seven ARP bolts need to be removed from the supercharger bracket. Once that is done the supercharger can be removed from the bracket and put on the work bench. To remove the seven ARP bolts you will use the 15/16 Hex bit.

Removing the Drain Plug

IMG_6112 (1).PNG

To remove the drain plug you want to lay the supercharger down so it is pointing up, that way when you take the plug out it doesn't start draining and make a mess. After it is out you can then drain the oil into some sort of bucket, drain pan, or oil caddy. To remove the drain plug you need to use a 1/4" allen wrench or a 7mm hex bit.

Filling the Supercharger With New Oil

The supercharger takes 6oz of oil, and it has to be special ARP oil otherwise you just lost 6 grand.

Installing the Supercharger

To install The supercharger you just slide it back into the bracket and you can start threading in the seven ARP bolts. After the seven ARP bolts are installed and hand tight they need to be exactly torqued down to 27 FT/LBS.

Connecting the Boost Tube

Connecting the boost tube can be a little trick at times. the 90 degree boot needs to be slid back onto the supercharger and it is usually tough to get it started. Once you get it slid all the way onto the supercharger you can then tighten up the band clamp with the 11mm wrench.

Installing the Supercharger Belt

IMG_6116 (1).PNG

To install the supercharger belt you must put the 15mm socket on the belt tensioner and turn it to the right to take the tension off of it so the belt can be slid into place. Double check all of the pulleys to make sure the belt is sitting right on all of them.

Installing the Supercharger Filter

Slide the filter back onto the supercharger and tighten the band clamp.

Now that all the steps are completed you can start your vehicle and go beat up on some mustangs.
