Chanel Spring 2014 Inspired Lace Nail Art

We can't all afford to rock the latest looks from the Chanel runway, but that doesn't mean we can't bring a touch of glamour to our nails! And a lot of times lace pattern can be really intimidating, but it definitely doesn't have to be!

paint your nail with a nude base color. I used "Set the Nude" by Ulta.

Using white polish, paint big and small flower shapes. For the bigger flowers, I made heart or “v” shapes to create the petals. Create little lines between your flower shapes to fill the space a bit. The lines should sort of mirror the edges made by the flowers.

When the white is nearly dry, yet still a bit wet, use a toothpick or something with a small point to expose the nude color beneath on some of the petals. For the big flowers, I tried to make lines, and on the small flowers I just made little dotted areas in the center.

Using your white again, fill in the center of the big flowers, overlapping the inside of the petals you already created by just a bit.

Make thin lines connecting all of the things you have painted thus far. This is what makes the design look like lace, rather than just a floral pattern. You can make as many or as few of these lines as you want. Try not to go too crazy with them though, or you risk losing sight of the floral pattern.

Finish off with a top coat, and clean around the cuticle using a brush dipped in acetone.
