Challah is a Jewish bread that tastes best with sweet things like honey, jam, jelly or peanut butter.
I have tried few challah recipes but this one is best-looking and also best-tasting. It's also very easy.

You will need:
1/2 cup of water (or milk)
20 grams of fresh yeast
3 egg yolks
4 tablespoons of sugar
a pinch of salt
50 grams of butter
3 cups of flour
a teaspoon of vanilla flavoring or vanilla extract (you don't have to add this one but it's a nice touch)
1 egg white
clean brush

Mix warm water or milk with yeast and sugar. Leave in a warm place for 5 minutes. Add the yolks, salt, melted butter and flavoring/vanilla extract. Mix. Add flour and mix. Now knead for 3 or four minutes (it will be easy because the dough is soft). Leave it in a warm place for half an hour.

Now the braiding. Its not as hard as it seems. Here's the video that helped me to do it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=22p3wIHLupc

Now put it into the baking form and leave it in a warm place for an hour(don't worry if you think it's too small. It will grow quite a bit in the oven). Then gently smear the egg white on top with a brush.
Now put your challah into oven preheated to 180*C ( 360*F) for about 40 minutes (until a metal stick stabbed inside comes out dry)
 Done!!!

AddItional:Challah tastes great with kruszonka (something for which I don't know a word for in English. Just Google it to see how it looks) . You take 2...(this just shows proportions, so no need for measurements) of flour, 1... of sugar and 1... of melted butter. You just miz the ingredients together and leave to cool down. Then mix it and sprinkle it on top of challah before baking it.
