Chain-mail Printed on Fabric
My aim of this experiment was
to determine if 2 different ways to create movement with a 3d printed material can work together. In this case the chainmail fabric and the 3d printing on top of fabric.
Supplies
Tule mesh (polyester)
Silk organza
PLA (filament)
3D printer
Painters tape

Slice the Chainmail file for your 3d printer.
Turn the printer on (make sure the PLA filament is there)
print for about 5 min (on the small sample), make sure the printer prints a few layers of the chainmail.
pause the printer
put your fabric on the bed (be careful when touching)
stretch the fabric over the print.
stick it with the tape (make sure there are no wrinkels or parts sticking out).
Continue the print
when the print is finished, take it off and have fun.
