Cement Fairyhouse
With air drying cement clay you can make your garden fairies happy.
For this project you will need air drying cement clay, solar fairylights, preservation jar and some sturdy plastic foil.
Use cement clay according to instructions to cover a preservation jar. Cut a circle in the plastic foil in the intended size of the roof plus 2 centimeter extra, cut a slit to the center and form a roof shape, use staples to fix the shape.
Put cement over the jar and the roof shape, to form the roof you may add some round bits of clay as you can see in the photo. Add a small roll of clay to the top of the jar and leave a small gap for the wire of the fairylights.
Let cure the cement clay for 2 hours, then carefully scratch off some to form a door and windows. Let set the clay for 2 days.
Put fairylights in the jar and roof on top. Put the house in your garden and place the solar collector in a spot in bright sunlight but hidden, if possible.
You can see how I have put the wire in the jar to prevent the fairylight from damage if roof is on top of the house.
If using color changing light you will have a stunning decoration for your backyard during night.
