Celitar- a Hybrid Cello-Guitar

IMG_0200.JPG

One day, I was bored and saw a piece of paper lying around, next to my guitar, and i stuck the paper into the guitar in such a manner that a new sound emerged, the sound of a cello! To be accurate, this was a plucked cello, but no matter, because a new instrument was born: *dramatic pause* THE CELITAR!

Supplies

  1. A working guitar
  2. A piece of A4 paper
  3. Scissors

Prepare the Paper

First up, grab your paper. Now, as if it was a bad drawing, crumple it heavily into a ball. You should carefully open it, trying not to rip it, so in the end you have a very wrinkled, open sheet of paper. Now it also would be a good time to tune your guitar.

Time to Fold!

Okay, we have a very disgruntled piece of paper doing nothing. Now what? Well, we fold it of course! IMPORTANT- If your paper has a laminated bit, you should remove it now. Continuing, holding the paper short-side up, valley fold it down once. now accordion fold the top once.if you don't know what that is, than just fold the top to the middle, then put the line in the middle at what is the current top. Now cut the thin part off, so you have a strip that is 8 times thicker than the original. Fold that strip sideways.

Putting It All Together

Take the guitar, and weave the paper through the strings, and put it at the bottom of the guitar. Tuck it nicley and congratulate yourself! You made a CELITAR!

Playing a Celitar

Play it as if it were a normal guitar, however, it sounds better as single notes instead of chords. It has a plucky effect, so expect short notes that don't last very long. NOTE I haven't been able to make a bow, and if you make one, good job! I wish you luck playing your celitar.
