Hi friends!

Today we will make a simple, interesting and bright "Caterpillar Toy", it's a funny way to study the colors of the rainbow. The body consists of 10 sections with Velcro where your kid can change the place of the elements for fun and satisfaction.

Game Options:

1. Ask a child to show a specific color (red, blue, yellow, green);

2. Arrange the colors in a specific order (you can study the Rainbow);

3. Help children learn to count to 10 using caterpillar sections;

4. Hide one color and help your child to improve attention;

and others, those examples are just to feed your imagining)

Supplies

  • Felt - colored
  • Embroidery threads

We make all details from felt. It will be safe and suitable for small kids.

You can make bigger or smaller eyes/nose/mouth or embroider brows, it will make every toy unique!

Stitch all around with a Blanket Stitch. It is a decorative stitch that looks nice on both sides. When 2 cm/1 inch remains, stuff with filling and finish stitching. Tie a knot and hide the end of the thread inside.

You can look up the HAND SEWING CLASS, and find "Sewing the Blanket Stitch" lesson

Repeat for All Colorful Segments

I use adhesive velcro tape but it seems it will not work properly on felt so I use additional hot glue.

Keep the same velcro position on all caterpillar "sections" so that they can be interchanged.

Use bigger velcro squares to make it easier for smaller kids.
