Cat Tent Scratcher


Does your cat dream of camping in the wilderness? Make all their dreams come true and construct this kitty tent! Bonus--it doubles as a scratcher!
Supplies

Drill
Phillips bit
Small drill bit for screws
Four 22" pieces of wood cut with a 22.5-degree angle on one end
Two 24" pieces of wood
2" screws
1 1/4" screws
24" by 48" rug
Lay Out Cross Bar


Lay out two 2x4 pieces with the angled side facing up and pre-drill two holes for the cross bar.
Screw in Cross Bar

Screw in the cross bar using the pre-drilled holes with the 2” screws. Repeat on the other 2x4 to secure the cross bar.
Repeat the Process for the Other Side

Repeat the cross bar process with the other two 2x4 pieces.
Stand Up Sides and Secure Together


Stand the two sides up together and screw the tops together with 1-1/4” screws. You can use wood glue as well for extra strength if you choose.
Repeat on Both Sides

Repeat on both sides, securing the 2x4s together.
Cover With Rug


Lay rug over the top of tent frame. Pre-drill holes if you wish, and secure the rug on the top, middle, and bottom of one 2x4 with 1-1/4” screws. Repeat on each of the other three 2x4 pieces.
Go Camping!
