Do your coin cells make you dizzy because they are not organized? Before I have 3D Printer, I always experience messed up coin cell. Therefore, I am having a difficulty when I am in the need of searching and using coin cell. Because I am fond of designing, my father bought me 3D printer. Currently, I have Dremel 3D40 printer. That is why I decided to create coin cell holder with the help of Tinkercad and then print it. Here is the tutorial of how to make coin cell holder.

Base of Holder- Pt. 1

To make the body of the holder, grab a box. Scale it into the width of 78 mm, the length of 114 mm, and the height of 25 mm. Grab a metafillet and scale it into the width of 7 mm, the length of 7 mm, and the height of 30 mm (for the height is supposed to higher than the box's height). Duplicate them until you get 4 metafillet. Group them together.

Base of Holder- Pt. 2

Duplicate the body holder and make it a hole. Resize into the length of 104 mm, the width of 68 mm, and the height of 25 mm. Raise it 5 mm above the workplane and group them together.

Base of Holder - Pt. 3 - Make Rooms

Make a divider by dragging a box. Scale it into the height of 24 mm, the length of 110 mm, and the width of 5 mm. Grab another box and scale it into the height of 24 mm, the length of 72 mm, and the width of 5 mm. Group them altogether.

Grab a box and scale it into the height of 10 mm, the length of 120 mm, and the width of 84 mm. Grab a metafillet. Scale it into the height of 10 mm, the width of 7.20 mm, and the 7.88 mm. Duplicate until you get 4 metafillet. Group them together.

Grab a box and make it a hole. Scale it into the width of 59.06 mm, the length of 110.40 mm, and the height of 20 mm. Group them together. Grab a box and make it a hole. Scale it into the height of 20 mm, the length of 81.60 mm, and the width of 26.25 mm. Make the radius of 1. Group them together.

Drag a box and make it a hole. Make the scale into the height of 20 mm, the length of 26.40 mm, and the width of 26.25 mm. Group them together. Grab a cylinder and make it a hole. Scale it into the height of 20 mm, the width of 18 mm, and the length of 19.69 mm. Duplicate it. Group them together.

Grab a wedge and scale it into the height of 3 mm, the width of 6 mm, and the length of 19.69 mm. Duplicate it. Make a box and scale it into the height of 3 mm, the width of 19.69 mm, and the length of 72 mm. Group the box and the wedges. Grab a metafillet and scale it into the height of 1 mm, the length of 92.40 mm, and the width of 1.31 mm. Make it a hole. Grab another metafillet and scale it into the height of 3 mm, the length of 92.40 mm, and the width of 3.94 mm. Make it a hole. Group them together.

Make the text of "1980" and make it a hole. Scale it into the height of 5 mm, the width of 18.10 mm, the length of 39.58 mm. Group them together. Drag a cylinder and make it a hole. Scale it into the height of 5 mm, the length of 6.56 mm, and the width of 6 mm. Duplicate it. Group them together.

Drag a cylinder and make it a hole. Make the scale into the height of 5 mm, the width of 15.60 mm, and the length of 17.06 mm. Drag another cylinder and scale into the height of 5 mm, the width of 18 mm, and the length of 19.69 mm. Group them together.

Make a gear by dragging a useful gear into the workplane. Make the number of teeth 6. Group them. Make a cylinder and make it a hole. Scale it into the height of 20 mm, the width of 18 mm, and the length of 19.69 mm. Make a cylinder and scale it into the length of 49.88 mm, the width of 45.60, and the height of 4 mm. Group it and the hole together. Duplicate it and the gear to the other side. Group the cassette altogether.

The Cassette Lid- Pt. 8

Type the word "COIN CELL HOLDER". Scale it into the height of 4 mm, the length of 98.64 mm, and the width of 9.62 mm. Align them. At last, you can change the color of the cassette as you like. I chose green color.

Hinges

To make hinges, use 5 boxes and 2 spheres. Each shape makes for the hole. Arrange them like the picture. The sphere is for the ball joint of the hinges, so it can move. Make sure to print it without support and high quality (with layer height of 0.1 mm). For the detail to make the hinges, I gave credit to Eunny's video because I learned from him.

Save all the parts to .stl file. Open Dremel Digilab Slicer. Open the file and print it one by one. Here are the printing results. I attached all my stl files here.

Other Accessories or Features

Because the result of the printing of cassette is not perfect, I make up my mind to cover it with details. I come up with sticker to cover it. Here is the template. Make sure the overall of the scale is 2.28" for the height and 4.25" for the width. The other details are optional. You can customize it as you like.

Assemble parts one by one. First, glue the plastic to the cassette, then follow by the sticker. So the sticker should be on the top of the plastic. Next, arrange and glue the text "COIN CELL HOLDER" one by one to the cassette. Lastly, glue the hinge to the base and cassette. But remember, do not glue the ball, otherwise it cannot move.
