Carrot Fries

IMG_6109.JPG

Hey y'all! Todays recipe is super easy and healthy! This is a great alternative to help cut back on some of the calories of traditional french fries. They might not rival the taste of traditional fries because we all know how delicious those are but these carrot fries are a healthy option which are still quite tasteful (as long as you don't go over board with the ranch) haha. If you want to know how to make your own carrot fries, follow the step by step intractable below or watch the video tutorial here:

Ingredients and Tools

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of Carrots
  • Salt (to your taste)
  • 1-2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil

Tools

Preheat

Begin by preheating the over to 450 F. While preheating wash your carrots.

Chop

Next, cut the carrots in half long ways and then cut those half’s in half again long ways (quarter lengthwise). Then cut each of those quarters again until they are roughly the size of a fry. You don't want them too big because they will not bake as well.

Add to Cookie Sheet

Add your fries to a cooking sheet (I lined mine with foil for easy clean up).

Add Ingredients

Add salt to your tasting and add your oil on top (enough to coat them) .Gently massage the salt, pepper and oil on the carrots to get them evenly coated all over. I ended up removing some of the carrot fries from this cookie sheet and adding them to a second cookie sheet. There were too many on this sheet and they will not bake completely if they are compacted too tightly on, so spread them out.

Bake

Put them in the oven for about 15-20 mins (at ten minutes turn them over to bake evenly). It is important to flip them because they will not bake throughout if you don't!

Enjoy!

Take them out once they are done and enjoy them dipped in ranch or ketchup. Enjoy!
