Cardboardossier System
In a new office environment, there is often a need for containers to hold and store the assorted documents or gadgets like draft papers and craft papers. As cardboard package box is the most common material that could be found in most of the office environments and there are many printer paper cardboard package box emptied everyday due to the enormous amount of office printing, those emptied cardboard package boxes can now be a resource to make a dossier storage system for this particular demand. The method provided in this tutorial is easy, quick and economical.
- The whole procedure usually takes no more than 15 minutes.
Materials Required
The Cardboardossier System is consisted of the following:
1) Gadget Depot(s)
2) Extension
3) Document Depot(s)
Requirements:
1) Gadget Depot - A4 sized printer paper package box (without cover)
2) Extension - A4 sized printer paper package box cover
3) Document Depot - A4 sized printer paper package box cover
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Cutter Blade
- Pen
Making the Gadget Depot
Simply slice open the front panel of the cardboard package box.
Safety Tips: Use the scissors to make an openning, then use the cutter blade to finish off the slicing.
Making the Document Depot
1) Designate a marker at a certain distance from the edge on both sides of the cover
2) Draw a diagonal line from this marker to the corner of the proximal end (both sides of the cover)
3) Slice the diagonal lines (both sides of the cover)
Safety Tips: Use the scissors to make an openning, then use the cutter blade to finish off the slicing.
Making the Extension
1) Draw a horizontal line perpendicular to the major axis on the cover starting with a distance of >5mm from the proximal edge of the minor axis
2) Slice the horizontal line from one side to the other side
Safety Tips: After usage, return the cutter blade immediately.
Assembling the Parts
1) The Document Depot is placed on top of the Extension by inserting the depot flappy end into the extension socket
2) The Document Depot-Extension Complex is then placed on top of the Gadget Depot
System Extensions (Optional)
The Cardboardossier System can be extended to several storeys by installing more Gadget Depots between the base Gadget Depot and the Document Depot by inserting the flappy end of one depot into the extension socket of the other Gadget Depots

Results
After loading the cardboardossier system (2 plus 1 format) with some documents and gadgets, e.g. staplers and cutter, the cardboardossier system works well and did not fall down, even hit by a certain amount of mechanical forces.
CAUTION: The weakest point of the system is its lateral sides. Although not easy to fall down, the system may lost its aesthetic appearance when a mechanical force is striking at its sides.
Summary
This tutorial provides you a new way to recycle the empty printer paper cardboard boxes. As the cardboardossier system is inexpensive, disposable, flexible and light weight, it offers a satisfactory temporal stationery or small gadgets storage solution in a dirty environment, e.g. laboratory and factory. The Flappy-End-Extension design makes the system flexible and easy to change its arrangement according to the demand of the user.
