Cardboard and Duct Tape Shelf

Do you need to put that one thing you have up off of your desk but don't have a shelf? Well, as long as you have some cardboard and duct tape, you're fine! This shelf should hold a small amount of weight just fine(perhaps a vase or small plant pot, or maybe a small electronic device), I just wouldn't start stacking books on it.

For this project you will need:

• Some cardboard
• Scissors and/or a knife or box cutter(be careful using a knife!)
• Some duct tape
• A few nails or thumb tacks, something just enough to hold it up

You could go without using duct tape and try hot gluing the pieces together. If you try that, please tell me how it went in the comments! You could also make it more decorative and try painting your pieces of cardboard. Again, I would love to see what you can come up with in the comments!

Begin securing two pieces of cardboard together to make a "V" shape. Then secure them to what will be the underside of another piece of cardboard. If you just need a shelf and nothing spectacular, this should be enough for you. If you want, you could color your cardboard before taping or gluing them together. Also, this shape works for me, I know that there are sturdier constructions that you could make. This shape was quick and easy and would do the job for my lightweight objects.

After covering the pieces in duct tape(if you'd like), find a place to put it up and use something like some small nails or tacks to secure it to the wall. I put one at either side right underneath the top and one in the middle towards the back at through the top.

Well now you have a shelf to hold an item or two. What will you put on it? Maybe a plant? Another Instructables creation of yours?
