Cardboard Tank

Welcome to the cardboard tank project. It is a fun, but challenging, build for the family. Providing a memorable time for everyone, this tank can turn the turret, maneuver over objects, and is easy to disassemble and repaint. If you're ready for an at-home project that's fun for the whole family, this is the tank for you.

Supplies

  1. Cardboard
  2. Paint
  3. A paintbrush
  4. Scissors (If you have access to a laser cutter, you may download the file below on Adobe Illustrator and cut it out for free)
  5. Hot glue or another strong adhesive
  6. A ruler

Cutting Out the Parts

Go onto the linked file above and use the measurements to create your shapes. Some shapes like the wheels will not be used, and the file is just a rough draft of the parts being created. Commenting on this project will help improve the blueprints for others.

Assembling the Parts

Use the attached file and the images above to glue the pieces together. Make sure to cut the side pieces for the turret to make the pieces fit. Next, tear the longest cardboard to make the treads shown above. Make a hole in the base as shown above, then put a pencil glued from the turret stuck into the base. This pencil will act as a swivel for the turret. Glue one of the provided disks onto the top of the turret. There will be extra length to the treads, make sure to set them to your desired length and glue them on.

Your tank is complete! You can paint it any color you like!
