Cardboard Ship (Titanic)
We built the Titanic for a school presentation. The first part shows how to generally build a ship out of cardboard. In the end we rounded the edge of the bow and cut it in half, so it looks like it`s sinking. You aswell can leave it as it is to have a boat to play.
Supplies
- Cardboard box
- (Cardboard for the floor or water)
- Toilet paper rolls
- Box cutter (maybe scissors)
- Glue
- Acrylic paint (we used red, white, black, yellow and blue)
- Brushes
- Duct tape
Cutting the Box
At first you have to cut the box to the perfect size for your boat and aswell cut the side tabs out. What is the perfect size? Only you know. How big is the box? Will you or your kids play with it or keep it as a model?
Afterwards it should look something like in the picture.
Glue the Hull
Now you can glue together the hull.
Fill the Holes
The sidetabs you cut out in the beginnig are going to fill the holes. Just measure the right size with your hull and cut them out.
Here we`ve rounded the edges. Simply bend the cardboard of your bow till it stays round.
Afterwards you take yome duct tape, put the sidetabs in and stick it all togehter.
Add Details
Now you can add simple details or if youre motivated try out something creative and decorate your ship as you please.
