Cardboard Secret Container
Hello ,my name is Bella and I made a cardboard secret container box.
It was quite easy but took a bit of time as I needed to let paint and glue dry. While making this I had a lot of fun and I hope you will enjoy making it too!
Supplies
The supplies to make this are :
-A medium sized cardboard box
- A little cardboard box for cutouts
-Hot glue gun + refills
-Paper
-Art supplies,e.g:paints ,paintbrushes ,pencils ,pens...
-Scissors or a knife
Step 1 the Sides
Step one :
Take your cardboard box and add paper over three sides of the box using a hot glue gun to secure. You can use Sellotape but then you cannot draw over this particular part the box ,so I prefer to use a hot glue gun. If the box is already white or a light colour then you can paint white over these three sides.Using the cardboard cutouts and knife or scissors make book shaped spines. You may make different sizes if wanted ,then paint over the cardboard. Once dry write titles of books onto the book spines sideways. Add Hot glue onto the sides of the books spines. Secure onto the side of the box where there is no paper. Draw lines with a ruler over the other three sides. If the book is red draw the line in red ,if the book is green draw the line in green… Once you have done this for every single side use a pencil to draw lines to look like pages in between the other lines.
Step 2. the Top and Bottom.
Remove all Sellotape from the cardboard box, if not possible glue another sheet of paper on top using a knife or scissors to cut where the box opens. Paint over in the same colour that the spine is underneath. Wait for it to dry. Write the name of the book on the top as well as the author.
(optional ) For the bottom paint the same colour as the spine above. Do not add any writing as this is the bottom of the book.
for the bottom paint the same colour as the spine above. Do not add any writing as this is the bottom of the book.
Congratulations, you are done. Put it on a bookshelf or on a table and it will blend in perfectly like a stack of completely ordinary books . But looks do deceive, you can put anything in there!
