Cardboard RC Plane Under $100

What's that flying through the sky a bird, a commercial plane, no it's RC plane soaring through the sky with such grace. Let's face it RC plane are pretty expensive to get like Eflite,HobyZone, Flite, Airtronics costing between 300 to 2000 USD. I have wanted a RC plane but when I saw the price there was no way I was going to pay that much money. So I decided to make my one RC plane under $100. When I saw this plane take to the air I knew I made the right choice. I had so much fun with this plane and I hope you can join the fun.

Materials

• Cardboard
• Paint
• Marker
• Hot Glue Sticks

Tools

• Hot Glue Gun
• Paint Brush
• Hobby Knife
• Scissors

Cut out a piece of cardboard the measures 12 inches in width and 21 inches in length. Then bend the cardboard in length wise. Then cut out a piece of cardboard that measures 3 inches in width and 12 inches in length. Put hot glue on both sides of the small piece of cardboard. Then put it on next to the crease. Then immediately fold the other part wing on the side the small piece of cardboard is. Now have you made your wing.

After you have made your wing this is time to a electronics to your plane. I don't have any pictures for this step because my electronics did not come in yet. So on the wing I drew where your servos are supposed to go. If my drawing does not make sense for you can click this link for how to add servos,batteries,etc.(Start the video at 8:44 )

Make 4 strips of cardboard measuring 3 inches wide and 14 and half inches in length. Then hot glue these pieces together in a rectangle shape and place in your electronics and you should be done with you fuselage. Also there is many was to go with the power of this plane. You can make this a dual motor plane and place the motor on the wing and make the front of the plane look like in the picture or you place the plane the motor in front of the plane. I chose on the wings for more power because dual motors. Then hot glue your wing to the top of your fuselage or anything that has a strong bond.

In this cut out 6 medium sized triangle and hot glue two of them together to make a one sturdier triangle. Repeat this step 2 more times. Then hot glue these triangle to the back of the plan then add you electronics.

• Esc
• Y harness motor
• Transmitter and receiver
• Motor

I wanted this plane to look like a plane in the military so I painted green and silver camo and added windows doors from sharpie. I really liked my color choice but any color will match with this amazing plane.
