Cardboard Office Lamp

Introduction

For een assignment for school we had to combine a (used) cardboard box with a modern technology into a product that permanent / long can innovate.

An important criterion: your idea must be "a logical link" retain the original functionality of the box (atmosphere, context ...) and you must can identify the original box in it.

I chose for a cardboard box that was used for HP printer.

So what do you need?

• Tape
• Cutter knife
• Meter/Ruler
• Scissors
• Pencil
• L-folder transparent
• LED strip (3m)
• protractor triangle

And of course the box.

The first thing I did was marking where I want to make the square holl.

(The square is 19cm x 8cm)

I wanted to keep the logo on the box so measured 13cm to start from the top and then started to mark the square on the cardboard box.

Now we need to cut the square out.

If you want to cut straight you can use your ruler like you see on picture 1 and 2.

If this is done you need to open the box, because we need to get in the box to do the other steps.

In this step you have to take the L-folder

We want to make a nice fitting schielding,

You know that the square is 19cm x 8cm but I took 21cm x 10cm this I did because we then can tape it easly on the carboard without we see the tape through the L-folder.

You can see what I mean on the last picture.

I properly attached the led stripe in the box by useing some tape.

I used tape because then I can reuse the LED stripe whenever I want. See picture 1 and 2

When that is done you need to attach the adaptors. See picture 3,4,5 & 6.

One of them I attached on the bottom of the carboard box so you don't see it and it's more beautiful.

Now your cardboard office lamp is done.

It gives good light and with the transparent schielding you can easily look to the lamp without hurting your eyes.
