Cardboard Minecraft Pig

This is a Minecraft pig made out of cardboard. You could also make this just with the paper template but it would probably be a little harder unless you added glue tabs. Hope you enjoy! -This pig was measured to be 1/8in for every pixel.

  1. 1mm cardboard (cereal box or the back of a notebook)
  2. Hobby knife
  3. Super glue
  4. Pencil
  5. Masking tape
  6. Ruler (optional for straighter cuts)
  7. Paint-paint brushes (if you want to paint it)
  8. Template (the smaller one is the head and the larger one is the body)

Cutting Out the Template

The first step is to cut out the templates, trace them onto the cardboard and cut them out of the cardboard (use some tape to hold them down if needed). My template was a little different than yours (the highlighted spot on the body template) because I was still working out the kinks when I was making mine.

Folding and Gluing

In order to make the folds easier and more precise you can score on the red lines with a hobby knife. The lines that are not red fold the opposite direction so you'll want to score on the other side. Once the lines are scored and folded you can start to glue it together. You can see in the pictures how the snout is folded and the rest of the head just goes together like a box. The folds on the body all fold the same way so you can score on all the lines. It was easiest to fold and glue the legs together and then the rest of the body (the + shape at the bottom of the body template is the bottom of the pig and has to go under the legs-pic.8).

You will need to cut the highlighted spot in the first picture just make sure it's glued onto the top of the legs so that it stays on top of the back legs. The final step is the glue the head on the front 1/8in away from both sides. Please share it down below if you make this and feel free to paint it also. There are some pictures, in the supplies step, of the actual pig in Minecraft if you want to paint yours. I gave mine a couple base coats of pink (1:1 red to white) and then painted a few pixels with black and white for the eyes and darker pink for the feet, tail, ears and nostrils. That's it hope you enjoy:)
