Cardboard Mace

This cardboard mace really isnt tough to make, the hardest part is cutting out the panels, and that is more time consuming than anything! Throughout the instructions measurments aren't really specified, thats on purpose! One of the main points of this craft is that its heavily modifyable, meaning you can make each part as big or small as you like! Now, go forth and make an awsome mace!
Supplies

pentagon image for reference (or you could try to draw it), Regular cardboard, cardboard tube, ruler, pencil, hot glue. Optional; paint, leather (for the handle).
Cut Out the Pentagon Panels

Your going to need to take your paper pentagon, it can be any size you want, and cut it out. Then you simply trace the shape onto cardboard, once done cut that piece out and use the new cardboard version to trace out 11 more pentagons. After your done you'll cut them all out, this will leave you with 12 panels.
Create the Base Panel

You will take one of the panels you cut out and trace the end of your tube onto it, as centered as you can make it. Once you have the circle you need to cut it out, this can be tricky, but my strategy is to poke the scissors through its center. After you will cut and turn, essentially ripping it apart, once a hole starts to form cut around the edge untill its the right size. Then take the panel and put it on the tube, you want it to be tight fit, but if its to tight then cut very small bits of the cardboard untill it fits. Afterwards hotglue around the edges connecting it to the tube.
Extend the Handle

In case your handle is to short, or you just find it esthetically pleasing, you can take another section of tube to extend it. Simply cut off another tube section, cut it down the middle, and push its edges inwards. Doing this you can push it into the other tube, then hotglue it to make it sturdy. Once finished you have completed the handle, albeit you can always modify and change it to make it better if you desire.
Put Together the Primary Layer of Panels

The next step is putting on the first layer of panels, take two panels and hold them to the edges of the base panel, making sure they connect as a trio. Next take on panel away and hotglue the other to the base. After take the second panel and glue that to the base, as well as the first panel. Repeat this, putting a total of 5 panels connecting the base.
Secondary Panels and the Supports

Next you will need to do the secondary panels, so take a panel and connect it to the edges of two of the first panels. Then hotglue it to them, now before we do the rest we will take a dowel and adjust it to fit between the secondary panel, and the panel that is directly across from it. Once sized put it in between them, and hotglue the dowel where it connects with either panel. Now repeat this process for the other panels, it can be difficult to glue them on the inside so glue the panels on the outside if need be. Once you get to the last few dowels, it can be very difficult to glue them too, so take the dowels end and coat it in glue, then push it onto the far panel, afterwards move and twist it so that the glue fully connects it and the panel. Once done all the secondary and primary panels should be connected with each other.
Last Panel

Once finished with the secondary panels you just need to put the last panel on, cut snippets of the panel if needed untill it fits snuggly on top with no overhang. Hotglue it, then you are finished with the base shape of the mace, revel in your hard work!
Getting the Spike Panels

All your going to do to get the triangle shape is measure a triangle using three vertices on the pentagon. Then using the new triangle shape you will create a cardboard version just like for the pentagon. The next step is a bit tricky, but to maximize cardboard savings and efficiency you can arrange the triangles to be next to each other, as shown above. Then cut them out, And voila! You have your triangles.
Assembling the Spikes

Assembling the spikes is the last big step to this project, the first thing you want to do is hold three panels together in a pyramid. This can be tricky, but stay patient and make sure they are alligned at the tips before proceeding. Then you want to hotglue one edge of it, be carefull to not let go or loosen your grip untill its fully dried. Once dried, carefully let go of it and turn the unglue side faceing you, then align it again and hotglue the remaining sides. Repeat this 10 more timea, until you have 11 spikes total. Then you will put a spike on your mace, it doesnt matter how you align it or which one goes where, but i had the base of the pyramid pointing at the point of the pentagon. Finally you just repeat this and put the rest on, this is the final product of your base mace!
Decorating

This is possibly the funnest part! You can add anything you want basically, here i just painted it with 2 sinple colors, and added a small leather piece on the bottom. Feel free to do anything you want, if you have enough wrap leather up and down the handle! Add gems, chains, etc.
Conclusion

This mace is really reaaaally simple, which means you can modify it easily! Above you can see another mace i made, it doesnt have spikes but its MASSIVE, and on a chain! The wilder you get with it the better, become the ultimate mace welding warrior or just have it for esthetics, the possibilities are endless!
