I made a lamp out of cardboard. I have always loved unique designs of different lamps, so I decided to try to design and make one myself.

First, I sketched an outline of a pentagon on one of the cardboard pieces. I then cut the pentagon out and repeated the process for another 10 times. For this pentagon, each side is 5 inches.

Next, I outlined four smaller pentagons inside the 11 big pentagon pieces and cut them out. The thickness of each piece is 0.5 inches.

After cutting out the cardboard pentagons, I then started to stack the pentagons on top of each other to form a cool looking geometric figure. I used hot glue to seal them together.

Once I finished making the side wall pieces, I then began to connect and hot glue them together to form a complete lamp top.

To make the base, I cut out two more pentagons with 5 inch sides. Taking the first pentagon, a cut a small hole in the middle. I then used more cardboard and cut out rectangles that are 5 inches wide and 1.5 inches tall to make the side walls. As there are many big scrap pieces from making the top, I used it to fill the inside of the base. I made a hole at the bottom of the base to later put the battery inside. Using the second pentagon piece, I cut a flap at the middle that aligns with the hole I made in the base. I then attached the pentagon to the bottom of the base to seal the base up.

Next, I took another cardboard piece and I folded it into a rectangular looking poll. I then attached it to the top of the base. Taking the fairy lights, I had the wires go from the bottom of the base through the top and wrapped it around the rectangular poll I made.

Lastly, I attached the top of the lamp to the base of the lamp to complete the project,
