Cardboard Demogorgon Cut Out

I've wanted to make a cardboard cut out for quite some time and now seems to be the perfect time to do so. I like making things to scale, but a 40 foot Siren Head cut out seemed a little too much. So, I chose the next best thing; The Demogorgon from Stranger Things! It can be used for Halloween or just a house decoration. It was really fun to make (not fun on my fingers- cutting cardboard for that long hurts), but it was definitely worth it in the end.

Cardboard (preferably very large sheets)

A knife

Tape (scotch tape and duct tape)

Take note of the direction the grain of the cardboard is going. The pages should be placed in a way so that the grain is going the long way (this should prevent cut out from folding over.) look at the proper order of how to place them (or don't, if you like puzzles) on a large sheet (or multiple, if you don't have a single sheet big enough. I used 2.) If the cardboard has a bunch of folds in it, try to decrease the number of folds on the Demogorgon by doing this.
Once they're laid out properly, tape them together. Make sure the lines match up and that the papers are completely flat.

Tape the papers on to the cardboard, this will make it so the papers won't slide around and mess up the Demogorgon. Now it's time to grab your knife and start cutting it out. Gently cut along the lines, making sure to cut through the paper and into the cardboard.

If you're like me, you didn't cut all the way through the cardboard. If this is the case, you'll need to go back over the entire thing, making sure the knife goes all the way through the cardboard. If you want, you can remove the paper before doing this. It made it a little easier for me. Once you're done this, you should have a demogorgon (or pieces of one, if you made it with multiple sheets of cardboard).

If you want to paint it, go ahead! Make it look like a Demogorgon or a clown. The choice is up to you.

If there are any bends on your Demogorgon, now would be the time to fix them. Locate any bends and take note of what direction the bends are going. (Make sure you do this on the back of the Demogorgon!) Take some scrap pieces of cardboard and tape them across the bend, making sure the grain of the cardboard scrap is going the opposite direction of the bend. If you made it with multiple sheets of cardboard, do the same thing to connect the separate pieces. The longer the piece of cardboard is, the better it should be at preventing any bending or folding.

Now you need to find 2 tall pieces of cardboard. You can either cut a long box or cut 2 strips out of the scraps, depending on big the scraps are. The strips should reach from the toes to at least the elbow on the right arm, but the taller it is, the less likely it is to bend. Once you've got the pieces, it's time to start taping (I used duct tape). Lay the first strip around halfway on the leg and tape it. Fold it over and tape it along the other side; repeat with the other leg.
