Cardboard Candy Dispenser


This is the Cardboard Candy Dispenser, a fun food-related item made out of homemade items.
Supplies











Full Cardboard Sheets (Any Amount)
One-inch spring (You can get these from click pens) (3)
Hot glue gun (1)
Hot Glue Sticks (Any Amount)
Long wooden dowel (1)
Popsicle sticks (Any Amount)
Glass (1 Piece)
Masking Tape
Candy (Small but not too small)
Cardboard Scissors
Ruler
Pencil
Make Border Pieces of Dispenser

First, you have to cut out 3.5"x4" pieces of Cardboard for the border
Make Support Pieces

Next, cut two pieces of Cardboard that are .125"x3.5" and glue a popsicle stick of the same size on it
Glue Support Pieces

Next, glue the support pieces to two of the square cardboard pieces .125" above the edge of the cardboard piece
Glue Border Together

Next, glue the support pieces on the edges of the other border piece
Make Inside Piece


Now, make a 3.5f"x1.75" piece of cardboard, glue a 1.5" popsicle stick in the middle, and then glue the inside piece in the middle of the support pieces
Make Another Inside Piece

Next, make a piece that is the same shape and size as the inside piece and the support pieces, and then glue it on the inside piece with popsicle stick but do NOT GLUE ON THE SUPPORTS
Make Button Piece

Next, make a piece that is 3.5"x1" put half a popsicle stick in the middle of it, and then put a large glob of glue over the popsicle stick
Add Dowel and Spring

Put glue on the inside piece with the popsicle stick on it and then put the spring down the dowel and glue it onto the inside piece
Put Piece on Dowel

Now, make a large hole in the fluting medium (inside of the cardboard) of the piece with the popsicle stick and the glue, snip the dowel to be as big as the dispenser, and place the piece with the popsicle as far down on the spring as you can. Then, push the piece down some more times, to make the spring more broken in.
Make Diagonal Piece

Next, make a 2.5" by 3" diagonal piece and place it diagonally inside the middle of the dispenser so that it stands up on its own. Then, glue it on like that.
Glue Glass On

For the final dispenser step, glue on a piece of glass that covers the whole front area to keep the candy from falling out

Make three dispensers
Start Making Base

To make the base, cut out two 10.5"x4.5" pieces, two 10.5"x8" pieces, and one 10.5"x3.5" piece
Make Bottom Base Piece



Now, glue a 10.5"x1" piece and glue it to the edge of one of the 10.5"x3.5" pieces. Next, glue the other 10.5"x3.5" piece to the edge of the 10.5"x1" piece. Finally, make another 10.5"x1" piece and glue it to the edges of the 10.5"x3.5" pieces.
Repeat for Base Top Piece

Next, glue a 10.5"x1" to the top edges of the two 10.5"x8" pieces, and glue the other side to the bottom base piece. Then, make two 1"x8" pieces and glue them to the two open sides of the top base piece.
Add Side Pieces and Dispenser Holders

Now, add two 4.5"x1" pieces to the two open sides of the bottom piece. Then, glue a 3"x4" piece of cardboard to the top of the 1"x8" piece. Repeat for the other side.
Glue Dispensers On


Now, glue one of the dispensers onto one of the sides, while also gluing it to the back. Repeat for the other side, and for the middle, glue to the back and the sides of the other two dispensers.
Make Top Piece

Make a piece that covers the whole top, probably about 10.5"x3.5" inches, and only tape one side of it so that the top can flap up and down.
Make Bottom Support Piece

Make a large piece, any size, that can cover up the whole bottom area of the base and it goes under it to hold it down.
Add Candy and Enjoy!

Add candy to the dispensers and enjoy!
