Cardboard Bottle Division to Wine Rack
For this assignement we had to work together with the company called Smurfit Kappa. We needed to make something out of corrugated cardboard that already exists but with a new feature added to it.
So I looked at some products of them on their site and I've come up with an idea of making a wine rack out of a cardboard bottle division (picture 3).
Lots of people just throw this things away, so I've made some simple punching holes into it. This way, you can store 3 wine bottles into the cardboard division, with almost no extra costs for the company!
What Do You Need?
- Stanley knife
- Pensil
- Ruler
- Cardboard ( 5mm thickness)
- Bottle of wine
Cutting the Cardboard
Use your Stanley knife to cut out 4 pieces of cardboard (190mm x 255mm) and 3 pieces of cardboard (190mm x 330mm)
Use your ruler and pensil to draw the gaps and cutouts onto the pieces of cardboard. You can find the dimensions in the pictures.
Cutting the Holes for the Wine Bottle
Use your Stanley knife to cut out the holes for the wine bottle. Mention that I've used a slim wine bottle with a diameter of 70mm. Some wine bottles have a larger diameter so you need to addept your dimensions ( width +10mm).
Putting It All Thogether
Slide all the pieces of cardboard into each other.
Your Own Cardboard Wine Rack
Congratulations, you've just made a wine rack out of a cardboard devision!
