made a cardboard helmet. I made a helmet because I thought that I would be a fun challenge to make a scrap piece of card board and turn it into something that could be worn and get some use.

To make the helmet I used corrugated cardboard from packages. I also used 1.5 inch blues masking tape for holding the pieces together. Another Item that I used was hot glue and a hot glue gun for glue the cardboard together. My last tool that I used was a hobby exacto knife. I used this to cut out the card board to shape.

The fist the I did the make my cardboard helmet was I cut the cardboard into strips that were about 2 inches wide. I cut a angle out of 4 of the 5 strips to help curve them into a helmet shape. I also cut of little triangle and rectangle to fill in the gaps.

My next step was to tape the 1 strip of cardboard in place on a table in a arch. Then I taped on two strips on each side central piece. those two pieces curved to help get the shape of the helmet goo and to strengthen the helmet. . I then taped on the last two stripes of cardboard on each side of the helmet to finish the shape of the helmet. I then taped in the triangles to fill in any gaps in the helmet. I now had the helmet ready to be glued.

My final step was to glue the strips to gather on the helmet. I first glued the two symmetrical pieces to the center strip. I then glued on the two side pieces that would finish the helmet shape. I then glued in all of the triangles and rectangles to fill in the gaps in the helmet. I finally glued in a beveled rectangle in the back to help widen the helmet and to also make it look more relisted.
