Cardboard 1969 Dodge Charger R/T

In this step, a lot of very specific measurements are required. You want to make the bottom eleven inches long and three inches wide. Wheel wells should be a half inch deep and one and one half inch long. You'll then want to align the side of the body in both sides so that the wheel wells match up. The side will be eleven inches long, while the rear will be one inch tall and the front will be about six eighths of an inch tall. Then, measure the front and back sides so that the widths and heights match up as well. Study photos to add detailing layer by layer of cardboard.
For the top, it should measure the same width and length with a 5 by 3.5 inch hole about dead center. Make the cockpit sides one inch tall and three inches across at the top.

Here is the dirty part. Using the templates you created in step one, cut out each section and glue them together accordingly. Make sure the correct sides are corresponding and glue to hold. Nothing is required on the inside.

This step requires the whole car, minus the wheels, to be glued together and dry. There is no correct paint job, but I recommend a nice cobalt blue. If desired, add the iconic R/T stripe. Paint the wheels black and then add the hubcaps in gray once they dry. Glue them to a wooden dowel or long strip of cardboard once the paint dries. Primer may be used to make it shiny.

If desired, you can put Saran wrap over the windshield and window holes to add the effect of glass, though this must be done before the gluing. You should be done by now, but if you want, you can add more details, such as a hood scoop or spoiler lip.
