Card Rose Hairclips

Hair Clips with card petals ( I made these for a queen of hearts costume)

you need these are a deck of cards, hair clips, superglue, scissors, hot glue and an unsharpened pencil

cut out petal like shapes from the cards I would recommend making a template and then tracing that one instead of drawing free handing each time

Cut the bottom of the petal into 3 sections the outside 3 smaller than the center one, once you have done that flip the petal over so that the backside of the card is facing up and gently push the two smaller pieces of the petal together putting super glue on the bottom section. as you make petals for different layers you may want to make the cuts closer too the center. The center 2 petals should be cut down the center and glued together to make a closer closing petal

Once you have 5 to 6 petals made you can attach the petals to the base, a circle cut out of card about an inch acrossed, apply superglue to the bottom of the petals pressing them to the base holding the petals down with an unsharpened pencil. Cut out more petals following step 2 and fit them into the the first layer once again putting superglue on the bottom and pressing down with the pencil till its dried.

Cut out another base circle. Open the hair clip and put the circle in between the top and the bottom of the hair clip. apply hot glue on the top side of the hair clip where the circle is and place the rose in the center of the circle where you applied the hot glue
