Caramel Apple Cheese Cake
I have always had a passion for baking, so when we got the opportunity to do a recipe contest for a school assignment, I knew I had to show the world my famous caramel apple cheesecake. If you love cheesecake, apples and cinnamon this recipe is for you!
Supplies
The ingredients used for this recipe are:
Light brown sugar,
Gram crackers (they will be crumbled for crust),
Old fashioned rolled oats,
Butter (which ever you like),
16 ounces of cream cheese (softened),
Granulated sugar,
Vanilla extract,
Ground cinnamon,
All-purpose flour,
Cornstarch
Gram Cracker Crust
The first step is creating the gram cracker curst, you will need:
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 cup gram cracker crumbs
3/4 cup old fashion rolled oats.
1/2 cup of butter, melted, be sure to allow the butter to cool before adding to the mixture.
Using a spatula or a spoon mix all the ingredients together until well combined. One completely mixed, using a spatula press the mixture into a spring form pan, make sure the crust is leveled. Place the crust in the oven for 5 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Once bake time is finished, allow the crust to cool.
Cheese Cake
The second step is creating the Cheesecake filling, you will need:
16 ounces cream cheese
2 tablespoons corn starch
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup of granulated sugar (if you like yours a little less sweet, you can do 1/4 cup instead)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Combine all the ingredients with a mixer, I find it easier to blend the cream cheese first, be sure to scrap the side and continue mixing until well combined.
Building Your Cheesecake
The third step is adding the filling and then placing the apples on top of the filling. Add the cream cheese filling on top of the crush, slowly and steady to be sure you don't crack or lift the crust once applied. You then will need to peel and slice your apples, I like thinner apples, but the size is your preference. Make a ring with the apples on top the filling to make sure the top is covered.
Apple Crisp Crumble
The final step before baking is creating the apple crisp crumble, you will need:
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup old fashioned rolled oats
1/4 cup brown sugar, make sure it is packed.
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoon butter (softened)
Mix all ingredients together with a mixer until the mixture is well combined and is crumbly. After you have made the crumble, you will add it to the top of the apples.
Baking
Bake in the oven for 45 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Allow the cake to cool once finsished and then add your caramel topping and enjoy!
