Car Transmission
This is a transmission system which controls the output’s speed, direction and can stop it completely,while still running the engine at the same speed
pros:
continious variable transmission(cvt)
drive, neutral and reverse modes(parking in development)
brakes
cons:
has low torque(force of the rotation, not speed) at the exit
the drive-reverse gearbox needs sometimes a little pressure to operate
The cvt may jam if it is switched to fast or if it is in the max or min positions
too big
cvt may break apart in certain cases
Supplies
You will need a Lego engine to rotate the whole thing. I used Lego spike high torque motor.
you will need a rubber band.
and plenty of gears,axis and a few non-Lego technic pieces.

This is the drive-neutral-reverse gearbox. Needs high torque to operate.

Note:this design with rubber band is not my idea. I saw a video on YouTube with this idea, I created my cvt based on what I saw.the realisation , thought, is completely mine.

gearbox n1: the first 3 images show the positions for drive, neutral and reverse in that order.
brakes: the pictures 4 and 5 show the disengaged and then engaged positions. Note that the 5 picture is idealistic, and the white piece on the shaft won’t be inside the brake, but it still works.
cvt: to change the speed of the output shaft, slowly move it up until the side pins are out, then move it forward or backward slowly. If the rubber band is jammed and is about to break, immediately put neutral and unjam the band.
