Captain America WWII Helmet

This is a project piece I decided to do one day after I found an old vietnam era helmet at a flea market. Cap's helmet was obviously WWII but, there is really no difference other than the texture of the paint.
Sanding

This was a chore through and through. I had to use a sanding disc I bought from Lowe's to sand the hardened wartime textured paint off.
Prepping

Once I had it sanded down as much as I could I noticed a lot of dents. being that I'm somewhat impatient I skipped any use of body fillerand went straight to cleaning and primering.
Painting

Using Krylon spray paint from walmart I applied 4 coats to the helmet.
Stenciling

For the A I printed one off the Internet, cut it out, centered it and taped it on. once I did that I taped the outline and removed the stencil but covered the rest. painting white over blue required about 6 coats of paint.
Finished!

This is the completed project minus the accessories such as the helmet liner, goggles and straps.
