Caprese-Cheesy Sandwich

This is my twist on a traditional Caprese sandwich! I found that I prefer cheese and herbs more than tomatoes. Because I myself made my own version, it is totally okay and encouraged to modify this recipe and use your own amounts of ingredients. E.g.: I used ciabatta bread, but you could also use baguette bread! This recipe is a guide to making a delicious sandwich, and I hope that everyone who reads it will enjoy the yummy results!

Supplies

Mozzarella cheese, Balsamic vinegar, Ciabatta/Baguette bread, Basil leaves, Thyme leaves, Olive oil, Salt, Pepper.

Coat the Bread

Apply the balsamic vinegar and olive oil to the bread, using vinegar for one side and oil for the other. Use enough to coat the top layer of bread. About 2 teaspoons of each should work.

Shape the Mozzarella

Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut and shape the cheese. I used a square-shaped cookie cutter for mine, and about four circular pieces of cheese - 2 1/5 inches in diameter. After shaping, put the cheese on the bread.

Add Basil

After lightly washing the basil leaves, add them to your sandwich. I used 7 medium-sized leaves.

Add Salt and Pepper

After finishing all of the previous steps, squish the two sides together! Cut if desired, and take your first bite.
