Start by crocheting a chain that's long enough to go around your ankle

Double crochet as many rows as you want, we did eight

Here is a YouTube video on how to double crochet

Add the Button Holes

When you finish the last row, single crochet along the edge to where you want your button to go, then make a chain the width of the button

Insert your hook where you want the button hole to end

Repeat for all your buttons

You may want to add more or less buttons depending on the length of your cankle sock. We decided to use two.

Buttons

On the other side were the holes are not for the buttons, this is where the buttons will go. Stick the sewing needle through the fabric leaving about 1/8 on inch room. Then put the button on top of it and stick the needle through the button and then stick it through the other hole. Repeat putting it through the holes three times. Then tie off the by a knot. Put the next button and inch away aligning with the hole on the other side. Repeat the steps above again to sew the button.
