Candy Machine

We made this to share candy during a pandemic in a innovative and educational way!

Supplies

Material list

5 pieces of plywood 18 x 18 by 1

75 screws (1 3/8) A piece of cardboard 7 x 7 4

rubber bands

a 18 x 2 x1 plywood

a fixed pulley

and string

Make Wood Box

Cut a square hole on the bottom of one of the plywood pieces.

Make the Candy Box

Screw the 5 pieces of plywood into a open box shape. The square hole should be away from the top (on the bottom like in the second photo). Use 5 screws for each edge. The top should be open.

Make Cardboard Trap Door

Cut a cardboard piece to the size of the square hole. Add the elastics to each side of the cardboard and then pin the other side of the elastics to the wood.

Add the Pulley

Screw the pulley on to the plywood pole. Screw the plywood pole with the pulley to the side of the candy box like shown in the second picture.

Add the Screw Ring

Insert the screw ring into the center of the top edge of the face that has the trapdoor .

Add the String

Hot glue 1 end of the string to the cardboard. Make sure you use lots of glue to keep it secure. Take the other end of the string and make it go through the ring and then through the pulley like shown in the picture.

Done !
